The finalists of the 2016 Visit Orkney Photo Competition have been announced.
Nearly one hundred images of the islands were entered by local residents and visitors, showcasing a wealth of talent and an appreciation of the beautiful Orkney landscape.

From cliffs and coastline to nature, wildlife and some of our most famous sites, the entries covered all aspects of life here in Orkney.

A judging panel made up of representatives from the local tourism industry had the tough job of narrowing the field down to a final six, before members of Orkney Tourism Group were asked to cast their votes for their favourites.

Here we’ve published five of the finalists but we're keeping the overall winner under wraps before a special announcement later this week.

The board of Orkney Tourism Group would like to thank everyone who took the time to enter and shared their experiences of Orkney.
