Six of Orkney’s finest food and drink makers will be showcasing their products at the Good Food Show in Birmingham this week.
Highland Park, J. Gow Rum, the Orkney Bakery, Orkney Gin Company, Stockan’s Oatcakes, and the Westray Bakehouse will all be representing the islands at the event, which will be held in the city’s NEC between 21st and 24th November 2024.
They’ll join hundreds of other food and drink businesses, with thousands of visitors expected to attend over the course of the four days.
The Good Food Show will feature live entertainment and cooking demonstrations from celebrity chefs, including Nadiya Hussain, Tom Kerridge, and James Martin. There will also be plenty of opportunities for Christmas shoppers to taste-test delicious products from artisan makers based around the country.
Project Manager for Orkney Food & Drink, Kerry Leask, said: “The Good Food Shows have traditionally been fantastic platforms for our talented local producers. They’re very popular events and attract plenty of food fans, so we’re all looking forward to a busy four days in Birmingham.
“Heading further afield than Scotland gives us all the chance to meet new customers and explore new markets, and of course we’ll be able to tell visitors about Orkney and everything the islands have to offer too.”
Visitors to the Good Food Show will also have the opportunity to win an Orkney hamper full of the very best local products.
