Now in my second season, Fully customizable and unique guided tours of Orkney and its outer islands by a native of them.
A proud Orcadian with a lifetime of experience, I'll share stories and insights that you won't find online! With four generations of my family living in Orkney today and Island roots that trace back to the 1700s, I aim to make each tour a personal and unforgettable experience, reflecting my deep passion for Orkney.
Born in Kirkwall and a lifelong resident of the islands, I've worked in many fields, most recently as a Telecommunications Engineer with British Telecom, covering all of the inhabited archipelago, come rain or shine.
Drawing on my own international travel experiences and valuable feedback from both clients and local experts during the 2024 season, I'm committed to offering a truly unique and stress-free experience. My tours have no fixed routes or rehearsed scripts, allowing for full flexibility to meet your interests.
To make the most of your time, let me know what your interests include. I specialise in the main sites of Skara brae, Maes Howe, Ring of Brodgar, Standing Stones of Stenness, St Magnus Cathedral, Italian Chapel, Scapa Flow and other lesser known sites. I can also provide, on request anything from Viking graffiti tours, shoreline adventures to try and capture photographs of Seals, Puffins, Otters and potentially Orcas, epic coastline treks and dramatic clifftop walks off the beaten path, Mound exploration (but watch out for the trows and hogboons!) or wartime and coastal defences exploration which are seen best in the evening.
My tour vehicle can take up to four passengers and pick-up and drop-off can be arranged for anywhere on the Orkney Mainland.
Popular lunch stops can include The Merkister hotel or The Orkney Brewery. Let me know your preferences and I’ll find something suitable. I work with a network of top quality local businesses to ensure I can help facilitate requests even out with what I offer so please get in touch.
About me: I am a Judo coach on the Island and take great interest in continually improving my knowledge on both “weel kent” and lesser known gems in Orkneys spectacular history spanning millennia. My time in the British Army reserve gave me the confidence in leading groups around my homeland.
