The Anchorage is set in the quiet village of St Margaret's Hope, right on the waterfront and in the centre of the village.  It is within easy walking distance to the ferry terminal 'Pentland Ferries' and is on the bus route to Kirkwall and Stromness.

The village has a variety of craft shops, grocery shops, cafe and restaurants.

The Anchorage has two single rooms, a family room and two double rooms, which are all en-suite and have TV's in the rooms.  Also supplied in the rooms are towels and a hairdryer.  All rooms are on the first floor.  There is a shared kitchen situated on the ground floor.
