Join Orkney's Historic Environment Scotland Rangers for tours of the Standing Stones of Stenness and the Ring of Brodgar.
Visit Orkney's UNESCO World Heritage Site with our Ranger Service and hear the secrets behind the stone circles.
The walks are free and take around an hour. Appropriate clothing and footwear is advisable. Meet at the Standing Stones of Stenness site entrance or the Ring of Brodgar car park.

For 2025, two new walks will take place at the Ring of Brodgar. Walking the Neolithic Landscape is a longer walk taking in the wider Brodgar area. The Rangers will show you how the plants, animals, and landscape have changed over the last 5,000 years. The walk will last around 90 minutes and is free with no need to book. Meet at the Ring of Brodgar car park just before 3pm.

The Brodgar Myth & Legend walk will show there is more to the Ring of Brodgar than meets the eye. This walk will focus on stories and legends associated with Brodgar and its surrounding landscape. This shorter than normal walk lasts approximately 45 minutes and may be suitable for people with younger children. It's free and there's no need to book. Meet at the Ring of Brodgar car park just before 3pm.
