A talk by painter Victoria Crowe OBE in conjunction with the Pier Arts Centre.
Victoria Crowe is one of Scotland’s leading painters. She has established herself as a painter whose work is instantly recognisable. While the full range of her painting covers landscape, still life, portraits, self-portraits and interiors, much of her work defies such precise categorisation.
Victoria was awarded a residency at Linkshouse through the Royal Scottish Academy and the Pier Arts Centre in 2022. She made two visits to Orkney observing the contrasting light qualities of the Midsummer solstice and the winter solstice. An exhibition 'Elemental' at the RSA in 2023, showed the work done over the residency periods. Victoria will talk about her work that has been recollected for the show at the Pier Arts centre together with developed work in the form of paintings, prints and on going collaborations.
Join us on Saturday 31st August at 6.30pm in the Pier Arts Centre, Stromness.
Tickets cost £4 for OAS members, £5 for members and £2 for school students, and are available in advance via TicketSource or on the door if available.
