Join us on Tuesday 11th March 2025 from 7.30pm in Stromness Kirk Hall to hear author and former journalist Daniel Aubrey discuss his murderous Orkney Mysteries Thriller series of books.
Daniel’s debut novel, Dark Island, is a crime thriller about neurodivergent reporter, Freya Sinclair, who uncovers a disturbing conspiracy following the discovery of human remains on Orkney’s wild Atlantic coast. It was shortlisted for the inaugural McDermid Debut Award, the Bloody Scotland Debut Prize, and longlisted by the Saltire Society for a Scottish Book of the Year award in the First Book category.
Daniel will be in talking about his debut novel, Dark Island, and his upcoming second book in the Orkney Mysteries series, The Dying Light. From the windswept depths of winter to the never-ending days of midsummer, the books follow The Orcadian reporter, Freya Sinclair, as she returns to the islands where she grew up and finds herself investigating a series of crimes. Who knew Orkney could be so bloody?? There will be an audience Q&A and a book signing too.
Tickets cost £4 for OAS members, £6 for non-members and £1 for children. Tickets can be purchased in advance via TicketSource or on the door if still available.
